In all aspects of my approach to treating horses, understanding and respecting each horse as an individual is my central philosophy. My consultations reflect this. During a consultation I ask many questions which are designed to give me an holistic picture of your horse's temperament, physical type, living circumstances, history and any veterinary diagnosis, prognosis, test results and current or previous treatment. I am also keen to hear about any little (or large!) peculiarities of your horse, as well as your goals. By the end of a consultation, through listening to you and asking questions myself I have not only a collection of facts but also a 'feel' for your horse. Together these enable me to assess and treat your horse's unique situation.

I am trained in classical herbal medicine and in line with my philosophy of individual attention is the way I prescribe herbal remedies. I have no pre-prepared herbal mixes for generalised conditions such as "Nervous Horse". If you have a nervous horse, his or her combination of herbal remedies, Bach Flower remedies and diet chart will be specifically designed according to his or her unique profile. The natural diet is a vital part of my treatment and to promote general health, well being and vitality in the long term.

To achieve lasting results the usual period of treatment is 12 weeks (one full blood cycle).

The consultation fee for my services is a ONE OFF fee per horse of $110 (Inc GST) which incorporates ....

Treatment notes
Natural feeding and supplements program
Prescribing, dispensing and sending herbal mixtures
Monitoring progress during the course of treatment
External treatments, referrals, management and training advice
Return to work programs where applicable
Free consultation for any condition at a later date

My herbal mixtures are made up individually for each horse after the consultation using only human medicinal quality extracts and tinctures.

The cost of my herbal mixtures (inc. GST, pack & post Australia wide) is:

$60 per bottle (200mls) for ponies and galloways
$88 per bottle (300mls) for average sized horses
$148 per bottle (500mls) for big or heavy horses

Most horses require 2-3 bottles to cover the 12 weeks. They are then maintained on their own individually designed natural diet.

The consultation fee for me to design A NATURAL DIET AND SUPPLEMENTS PROGRAM is a ONE OFF fee per horse of $55 (inc GST) which also includes monitoring progress and recommending changes when necessary. As a service to clients I also supply feed herbs and natural supplements at excellent prices. Please see the Products page for details.
